  • ✓ Pre-treatment PSMA PET or Ga-68 DOTATATE PET scan
  • ✓ Baseline blood tests and eligibility workup
  • ✓ All 4 or 6 treatment sessions (drug, infusion, observation)
  • ✓ Pre-medications (anti-emetics, octreotide premedication where indicated)
  • ✓ Amino acid kidney protection infusion (for Lu-177 DOTATATE)
  • ✓ Between-session blood tests and clinical reviews
  • ✓ Post-treatment SPECT verification scan
  • ✓ Discharge documentation and radiation safety briefing for every session
  • ✓ Complete medical records package for your home oncologist
  • ✓ Patient navigator support throughout
  • Local transport between your accommodation and our center for every clinical visit

Additional costs (not included in the treatment fee)

The items below are your responsibility, planned and paid separately. They are not part of the $6,000–$8,000 USD per session price.

  • Flights to and from India (long-haul, both directions)
  • Accommodation in India (we recommend pre-vetted options; $600–$1,800 USD per month for serviced apartments)
  • Medical visa fees (paid to the Indian government, typically $40–$100 USD)
  • Local food and incidentals
  • Any additional sub-specialist consultations you may want (e.g., second-opinion review)

How patients pay

Indian patients

  • Out-of-pocket: The majority of our Indian patients pay directly.
  • Mediclaim: Many Indian insurers (HDFC Ergo, Niva Bupa, Star Health, ICICI Lombard, others) now reimburse Lutetium therapy in part. Our hospital coordinators can pre-authorize before treatment.
  • Section 80DDB tax deduction: Cancer treatment expenses qualify for a tax deduction under Indian income tax rules. Your CA can confirm the current limit.
  • Cancer charity grants: Indian Cancer Society and similar organizations can support eligible patients.

International patients

  • Direct payment: Most international patients self-pay. Wire transfer in USD.
  • International insurance: Some plans cover treatment abroad, especially if specifically pre-approved. We provide documentation for claims.
  • Home-country reimbursement: Some patients pursue post-treatment reimbursement through their home insurance using our complete medical records package.

Financial assistance

We can suggest applicable charity programs, crowdfunding platforms (Ketto, ImpactGuru, Milaap), and other resources. We don't turn patients away purely on cost without discussing options.

Frequently asked questions

Is the price negotiable?

Our pricing is set to reflect the actual cost of delivering high-quality care. We do not negotiate the base price for paying patients. We may extend financial support for eligible patients facing genuine hardship — discussed case-by-case.

Will I really pay the quoted amount and nothing more?

Yes, for the items listed in the treatment fee. Additional costs (flights, accommodation, food, visa) are at your own discretion and arranged separately. Local transport between your accommodation and our center for every clinical visit is included in the treatment fee. If complications occur requiring extended hospital admission (rare), additional charges may apply — but you'll know about them as they happen, never retroactively surprised.

Do you accept Indian Mediclaim?

Yes, we work with most major Indian insurers. Pre-authorization typically takes 1–2 weeks; our hospital coordinators handle this. Coverage limits vary by policy.

Can I split payments across sessions?

Yes. We can structure payment per session ($6,000–$8,000 USD per session) rather than upfront. This is common for self-paying patients.

Will my home insurance reimburse?

Generally no for treatment costs paid in India. Some plans cover home-country follow-up scans. Documentation we provide can support insurance claims if you choose to pursue them.

Is the quality the same as international centers?

Yes. We use the same active radiopharmaceutical (Lu-177 attached to PSMA-617 or DOTATATE) and follow the same international protocols (VISION, NETTER-1, NETTER-2, PSMAfore). Our outcomes are consistent with global benchmarks. In-house radiopharmacy preparation and efficient infrastructure let us deliver this standard at experienced Indian facilities.

Will I get a written quote before I commit?

Yes. After we review your records, we issue a written quote specifying the full treatment fee, what's included, the session schedule, and the expected duration. You decide based on the written quote.

What if my case is unusually complex?

If your case requires non-standard protocols (e.g., re-treatment, off-label use, combination therapy), we'll discuss the specific scope and cost transparently before proceeding. Standard pricing applies to standard protocols.

Can I do just one session, or split treatment with a center back home?

Yes. You're not obligated to do the full course with us. Single sessions, partial courses, and split treatment between our center and your home country are all welcome. Per-session pricing ($6,000–$8,000 USD) applies whether you do one session or all of them. We'll provide a complete records package — dose history, scan results, protocol notes — so your home oncology team can pick up seamlessly.
